Native American Indian Ancestor's Information

American Indians who lived on reservations will generally be listed in the records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (Held by the National Archives).  Those who left the tribe (and thereby lost their native citizenship) will be found in non-Indian records, such as the US Census, land records, etc.
